I've finally re-done this digitally. I did this because I love this sketch and I hate how my blender pencil killed the colored pencil look of the original. Plus I also updated it with Keller's new design.
x-posted from original desc: Way back in January, I stumbled upon a quote from Romeo and Juliet. It goes as such: Romeo: I dreamt a dream tonight. Mercutio: And so did I. Romeo: And what was yours? Mercutio: That dreamers often lie. For some odd reason, the second I read that quote a picture popped into my mind. So I did a quick thumbnail and moved on. Then, over a month later, I decided to actually do the picture. I put Keller into the Romeo role and Doran into the Mercutio role. Because that's how they'd be. Although Keller isn't too mugh of the dreamer type, Doran is the type that would shoot one down. I love Doran. This was also sort of a venting piece. I was going through some tough emotions and I felt like Doran in this picture. I didn't think that anything would work out. The problem still isn't solved, but I still think about it. I'll probably re-do this digitally because my blender pencil completely killed the look of the colored pencil. But I'm still happy enough with it to post it. Keller and Doran are supposed to be in a bar. Keller walked in all love struck because he was just with Rigby. This is pre-marraige, as far as their anthro forms go. Doran can't stand it when people are all love struck. He's a cold heartless bastard because he's never really been able to be with a girl for more than a few weeks. He's pretty much a loner, so yeah. He can't stand seeing people head-over-heels in love. So he's like: "Shut up, idiot. This feeling will pass." And Keller is all: "Grr! You shut up!" No comments on how bad it it that Doran is smoking/drinking! He's a rebel and he's going to die anyway, so why not go down with lung and liver cancer! Leave the poor guy be. sketched: 2/28/07 colored:5/9-10/07 Keller & Doran (c) R'87 |
